Update. J.T.'s day yesterday went really well. He had his first session of rehab without me
or his mother present. He returned to the room and got to drink some Frosted
Orange from The Varsity. Friday's are
called Friday Fun Day . The whole floor
he is on got together to paint posters and signs for The Atlanta Road Race
which takes place on July the 4th.
Before he went he was notified that they would do two trials of 2 hours
max Off the Vent. This would be
Completely Breathing on his own. He took off and did it no problem. When he was back in the room he asked to
stay off more. The Respiratory Therapist
said they had to follow Doctors orders.
He again did another trial later with no problems. This was awesome news as they will continue
to ween him off the vent and eventually take out the Tracheotomy . I was carrying in The Varsity food and I ran
in to his main Doctor her eyes lit up
when she saw me. She just blurted out
that he was doing Awesome and looked Great.
Her words to me were "He's Gonna Fly". I do not believe that she just throws those
words around to everyone. Today he will
have one hour of therapy and spend the rest of the day visiting family and friends
and resting. He hopes to be able to
attend the Church Service upstairs tomorrow.
He again told us he missed home last night. He also wanted to go back to the apartment
with us. Please pray for his ability to
rest, his understanding, his Strength,
that he will continue to breathe unassisted ,
his swallowing and appetite will improve , and most of all for God's
Great Healing. I told J.T. That each little step was a small Goal , but
not to lose sight of that Big Goal.
Thanks for everyone continued Prayers.
