Post from JT Brooks
One year ago today my life was completely changed. While playing the game I love, I fractured my C6 and C7 bone on my spinal cord. I went through surgery, multiple procedures, being on a ventilator, my left lung collapsing, and many other complications. Luckily, I was blessed with an amazing family, group of friends, and community that helped me push through the most difficult time of my life. This injury has put a whole different perspective on life. You've got to live everyday to the fullest. Don't take anything for granted. It could be worse. No I'm not talking about my situation, it could be worse itself. It's hard not to think "Why me?" I guess God has a different plan for me. I just have to accept that on move on. It's been a wild 365 days. I try to think of this injury as a blessing not a curse. I have met new people who have encouraged me in many ways and made connections that will help me throughout the rest of my life. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has prayed for me. I'm not giving up! I have been doing physical therapy for a while now and I will continue doing that throughout the summer along with making occasional trips to Atlanta. It's in Gods hands now! #FightFor5

Thank you!! Mrs. Chloe Baugh is organizing the following event:
May is National Mobility Awareness Month! Once I read this information, I couldn't stop
thinking about how much I pray for "Mobility"...a word that, I
selfishly took for granted, until a year ago.
Through a really tough and painful situation, I watched so many people,
of all ages-come together and grow into a prayerful, hopeful community! We can find adversity just about anywhere-but
honestly, I would rather not. I would
rather celebrate strength and growth! So
this Thursday, May the 25th {6:00} in the Boardroom at Promise Medical-I want
to help you create a unique canvas painting, fellowship, and contribute to
HelpHOPELive in recognition of our town's love for J.T. Brooks. The cost is $30...I will provide your canvas,
paint, and brushes. If painting is not
your "thing" I will have donation jars available so you can show your
support. All proceeds will go to
HelpHopeLive. I'm not a professional
artist, but I do love to try...I can help you, and I think we can have a lot of
fun! I'm sharing a picture of our
project...you can put your own spin on colors, flowers, and other details so
that your creation can match your home, office, dorm room, classroom etc. I painted our downtown, with an eclectic
tree-to me this represents: something beautiful can grow from a special town,
full of caring people. I have 20 spots
available, so comment your name if you plan on painting! Thank you, for your support and I look
forward to showing the world, that #mobilitymatters to Rogersville!

J.T. was Honored yesterday at the IMAC Conference Championship Game
Yesterday at the IMAC Conference Championship game they
Honored the Top Players. At the
conclusion of the ceremonies the Coaches , administrators , and players Honored
J.T. with an All IMAC All Conference Award. It was a Great Honor and a show of Class,
Respect , and admiration for J.T's talent , hard work and determination. J.T.
was very surprised and humbled.
The moment was bitter sweet for me.
I knew in my heart that he should have been playing on that field
somehow, but it wasn't in Gods plan. I
am humbled and so appreciative of this Honor.
To see J.T. get that kind of
respect from his peers is awesome.
Thanks goes out to all involved.
Please continue your prayers!!!
